Itinerary

Day 1 - Drive to the Rock Capital

Welcome to Northeast! Your trip to Meghalaya starts with meet and greet at the Guwahati airport. We drive straight to the ‘Scotland of the east’ or ‘The Rock capital of India’ as they say, Shillong. Spend the evening at leisure exploring the local market, or socialise over a couple of drinks with the locals in a cafe. Cafe hopping and exploring the rock culture and food is strongly recommended. Overnight Stay at Orange Homestay or similar.

Day 2 - A day in Shillong

Today we explore the areas in and around Shillong. We start our day with a nice breakfast and head to Laitlum Canyons, from where we get the birds eye view of Shillong. If you feel like, you may explore more places like Elephanta Falls, Don Bosco Museum to get cultural and historical insights about Meghalaya. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Stay at Orange Homestay or similar.

Day 3 - A Day out in Natural Water park.

After a fine breakfast we start our day with a 2 hour drive to Mawlyngbna. After checkin at a Guesthouse, we head to reservoir and stop for our highlight of the day, “River Canyoning”. Canyoning is a super fun activity which basically is trekking your way along the river. Unleash the kid in you sliding and climbing the rocks.
After canyoning, we relax and enjoy a blend of light adventures like kayaking, trek to waterfalls and cliff jumping.
We also explore ‘Lew Luri Lura’ which according to a local folklore was a marketplace for giant animals centuries ago. There foot prints are still seen there. We also say hello to the fossils which is seen in abundance there.
After the adventurous day, we head back to our guesthouse and take good rest. Spend the evening at leisure.

Day 4 - The Best of Wettest Place on Earth

A Palatable breakfast and 3 hours of Scenic Drive later, we reach the wettest place on Earth, Cherrapunji (locally known as Sohra). We explore a couple of Nature’s masterpiece on the way and at sohra. Highlight of the day is trek to the top of the tallest Waterfall Plunge in India. Post that we do some Introductory caving. We finally head to the Sai Mika Resort or similar and we have a feeling that tonight is gonna be a good good night.

Day 5 - Trek to Double Dekker Living Root Bridge and the most beautiful waterfall you've ever seen.

The tea gets served early today as we prep ourselves for a small adventure. We start our scenic drive past Cherrapunji to Tryna from where we start approx 2 hour trek to nearby village Nongriat to see another magnificient creation by nature shaped by humans. The Root Bridge. A couple of them actually. It may be a tiring trek for beginners as we go downhill and your legs start to shiver as you decent towards Nongriat but it’s a treat once you reach the Bridge. We check-in at a homestay and keep our bags and head towards the Bridge. Immersing yourselves to the surroundings, treat yourselves with a fish spa in a natural pool, photobomb and give yourself some rest because we aren’t done for the day yet. There is another beautiful trek waiting for us. We will start a trek to nearby waterfall. This argueably may be the best waterfall you have ever seen till date. We will take our time their and immerse ourselves to the ambience. You may want to carry an extra set of clothes because we strongly recommend taking a dip here. We come back and spend the rest of the day at leisure at Serene Homestay or similar.

Day 6 - Drive to Airport as per flight timings (evening flight preferably)

After a palatable breakfast, we start our drive to Airport as per flight timings.
