Bedini Bugyal is a Himalayan Alpine meadow, situated at an elevation of 3,354 metres in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state of India. Bedini Bugyal falls on the way to Roopkund near Wan village. Trisul and Nanda Ghunti are clearly visible from here. This lush green meadow is adorned with blooms in a wide range of varieties. There is a small lake named Vaitarani(Bedini Kund), situated amidst the meadow. The rich flora of the area includes 'Brahm Kamal' or Saussurea obvallata.

Itinerary


Day 1: Kathgodam to Lohajung

  • Altitude: 7,662 ft.
  • Distance: 210 km (9-10 hrs drive).
  • Arrive early at Kathgodam railway station and drive to Lohajung (transportation included) which will take approximately 9 to 10 hours.
  • Breakfast and Lunch will be on the way at a roadside inn, exclusive of charges.
  • The route passes through many beautiful hill stations like Bhimtal, Almora and Kausani. You drive alongside local rivers and get views of many peaks like Kamet, Nanda Ghunti, Trishul, and Nanda Devi amongst others.
  • Arrive at your base camp, Lohajung by the evening. It is a small town with very basic facilities available. Dinner and overnight stay at Lohajung.

 

Day 2: Lohajung to Gairoli Patal Campsite (10,000 ft.)

  • 15 km drive from Lohajung to Wan and then 7 kms trek to Gairoli Patal.
  • Initial 30-45 minutes ascent to Ran Ka Dhar followed by a 20-minute descent to the river Neel Ganga.
  • A stiff climb of 3 hours from Neel Ganga to Gairoli Patal.
  • You would cross the oak forest as you go and the scenic beauty is just mesmerizing.
  • Carry sufficient water from Lohajung. You can refill your water bottles at Neel Ganga.

Day 3: Gairoli Patal to Ali Bugyal to Bedni Bugyal Top (12,200 ft.) and back to Gairoli Patal

  • Trekking distance: 10 km.
  • Water sources: None. Carry 2 litres of water from the camp site.
  • The trail begins to climb steeply into an oak and rhododendron forest. And after half an hour of ascending stoned steps, the trail opens up to a huge meadow. Take the trail to right that will take you to Ali Bugyal.
  • Stiff climb for about 2 hours to Ali Bugyal followed by a gentle trail to Bedni Bugyal.
  • From Bedni Bugyal Top you get astounding view of peaks like Maiktoli, Neelkanth, Chaukhambha and Mrigathuni.

Day 4: Gairoli Patal Campsite to Lohajung Via Wan

  • Enjoy your journey back to Lohajung via Wan. The path is fairly simple and you would not feel any distress throughout.
  • You would cross the oak forest as you go and the scenic beauty is just mesmerizing. You would see the end of meadows after a few minutes.
  • This will be a steep descent for the Neel Ganga. Faster trekkers reach there in approximately one and a half hours. However, you should take your time and enjoy the beauty as you go by.
  • From the river, it takes about half an hour to climb to the ridge above Wan village.
  • Overall it takes about 5 -6 hours to Wan.
  • Drive back to Lohajung.

 Day 5: Lohajung to Kathgodam

  • End of journey. Drive from Lohajung to Kathgodam.

We also provide all necessary equipment to guarantee our clients safety (first aid kit, oxygen) and all our trek expeditions maintain contact via portable radios.

We totally understand that unforeseen circumstances might need you to change plans, and so our cancellation policy makes it easier to do that.
  • Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the trip — full refund.
  • Cancellation between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the trip — 50% refund.
  • Cancellation less than 15 days to the start of the trip — no refund.

In case of unforeseen weather conditions, government restrictions or any other unavoidable circumstances beyond the control of the host, certain activities during the expedition or the event itself may be cancelled, or there could be change in the itinerary. In such cases, the host will try their best to provide an alternate feasible activity or a voucher will be handed over (in case of cancellation or rescheduling of event) to you. However no refund will be provided for the same.

In case the trip is cancelled by the host for lack of minimum number of people in the batch, you will get a full refund.
