Bali Pass Trek is a high altitude trek that connects the Har Ki Dun Valley with Yamunotri in the Indian Himalayan region and also a beautiful journey. It is at an elevation of about 4,800 meters and located in Garhwal Himalayan region. It is a gateway to capture the trio of Kalanag at 6,387m, Bander Punch at 6,316m and Swargarohini group of peaks at 6,252m. Bali pass tour stretches for approximately 8–9 days, passing through the Har Ki Dun valley from an elevation of 1,900m to 4,800m which has an associated story of the Pandavas. The trail path has several colourful orchards, animals, birds and clicks the trekker´s diary. The trail has one another attraction is the culture in the Garhwal Himalayan portraiture. The trek after Har Ki Dun valley moves through the Ruinsara Tal and becomes very tricky. It is one of the moderate treks in the Himalayas.

Bali Pass Trek, from Har Ki Dun to Yamunotri via Ruinsara Tal, starts out from Sankri (160 km from Mussoorie). The trail from the Sankri, follows Taluka at 1,900m and Osla at 2,559m with a gradual climb that takes 6-7 hrs to cover the distance of 13 km. It is a beautiful trek and an old trekking route from tons to Yamuna river valley. It gives you the experience to camping at a high altitude of about 4000m. It attracts more trekkers in the monsoon season when the snow melts and it approaches both sides. It also has a steep descent to Yamunotri at 3165m.

Itinerary


DAY 01 : DEHRADUN – SANKRI [DISTANCE- 210 KM / DRIVE- ABOUT 7 HRS / ELEVATION- 1920 METER]
STAY IN GUEST HOUSE

We start drive from Dehradun to Sankri mussorie and the villages of naugaon, mori and netwar. After the Netwar we enter in the Govind National Park forest, 20 km through the forest. We will stay overnight in guest house in Sankri.

DAY 02 : SANKRI – TALUKA – SEEMA [ DISTANCE- 12 KM / TIME- ABOUT 4 HRS / ELEVATION- 2560 METER ]
STAY IN CAMPS

There is a road through the forest connected from Sankri to Taluka. The path is tricky and you will face blocks. Taluka is a small village having some dhabas and shops. After Taluka, we walk along the true left of the river, passing through apple orchards, fields and forest. Seema is also a village having some dhabas and some tea shops in the path. We camp on the field near the village or along the river.

DAY 03 : SEEMA – ROILTIA [ DISTANCE- 4 KM / TIME- ABOUT 4 HRS / ELEVATION- 2900 METER ]
STAY IN CAMPS

We continue along to true right of the tons river. The trail continues through the fields and climbs high above the confluence of Ruinsara gad. After Devsu Bugyal meadow we reach roiltia. We camp in front of the waterfall near villages of Osla & Puoni.

DAY 04 : ROILTIA – RUINSARA LAKE [ DISTANCE- 9 KM / TIME- ABOUT 5 HRS / ELEVATION- 3350 METER ]
STAY IN CAMPS

We climb to Ruinsara Valley and pass a series of landslide zones and streams. The trail is going ahead and gives you a way to birch and rhododendron. It is a lake surrounded by the meadows and very beautiful. Walking through forest is lovely and enjoying. We camp near the lake here.

DAY 05 : REST DAY AT RUINSARA

Here we enjoy the day near lake and spent time to exploring the glaciers and valleys. This will help us to rest body and climb to the pass on next day and fun also. We visits kyarkoti and dumdar kandi pass before returning to the camp by the evening.

DAY 06 : RUINSARA LAKE – GODARI [ DISTANCE- 4 KM / TIME- ABOUT 5 HRS / ELEVATION- 4100 METER ]
STAY IN CAMPS

We start early day to reach before noon. It is a best location to camp with fun. It offers a experience to trek at a high altitude.

DAY 07 : GODARI – BALI PASS – UPPER DHAMNI [DISTANCE- 15 KM / TIME- ABOUT 7 HRS / ELEVATION- 4800 METER ]
STAY IN CAMPS

We start early in the morning depending upon the weather conditions. The trail passes through over the ridge which is a steep climb to Bali Pass. By passing the glacial screen, we reach at the top and get the gorgeous views of various peaks. We descent into alpine zone, reach at the grounds of upper dhamni.

DAY 08 : UPPER DHAMNI – YAMUNOTRI – HANUMAN CHATTI [ ELEVATION- 2400 METER ]

The trail descent to Yamunotri and we visit the shrine of Yamunotri. The trail goes to Hanuman Chatti. We stay overnight in the guest house of Yamunotri or Hanuman Chatti.

DAY 09 : YAMUNOTRI – JANKI CHATTI – DEHRADUN [ DISTANCE- 180 KM / TIME- ABOUT 7 HRS]

It is the end of the trip and we will reach Dehradun on the day nine.

In case of unforeseen weather conditions, government restrictions or any other unavoidable circumstances beyond the control of the host, certain activities during the expedition or the event itself may be cancelled, or there could be change in the itinerary. In such cases, the host will try their best to provide an alternate feasible activity or a voucher will be handed over (in case of cancellation or rescheduling of event) to you. However no refund will be provided for the same.

In case the trip is cancelled by the host for lack of minimum number of people in the batch, you will get a full refund.
