The land of the rising Sun.
Ahh! you got it right - Arunachal Pradesh is undoubtedly the most beautiful place on earth.

The land of Nyishi, Adi, Apatani, Monpas and many more is resplendent in cultural heritage, kept hidden for long. The majestic grandeur that the state holds with its undulating mountains, surging rivers, flourishing flora and fauna is to die for.

And how can one forget 'Tawang' when mentioning about Arunachal. The small mountain town is considered to be the heart of the State. Inhabited by Monpas, Tawang is an extravaganza full of culture, religious and touristic feel, one hanker for. With places like Sela Pass, Bumla Pass, Madhuri lake and many Gompas, Tawang is the perfect destination for the escape from urban crowd.

Also home to the largest Buddhist Monastery in India - Tawang Monastery also known as Tawang Galdan Namgye Lhatse. And to celebrate this extravaganza, the State Tourism Department started Tawang Festival in the year 2012.

Every year, the festival starts with Sebang – the religious rally of monks from the Tawang monastery to the festival site. It is the religious tradition to declare the festival open.

This Cultural Festival has everything from showcasing Buddhist religious events, traditional dance of various tribes, handloom products and other crafts made by the locals, local food stalls, movies that focus on the rich history of the State, photography and painting exhibitions and more. Last year, the festival ended with the Tawang International Run, a high altitude race at 10,000 ft from sea level.

Honoured with the titles of the “Best Cultural Festival” and “Best Tourist Destination” of 2017, Tawang is gearing up for this year’s edition. The land of Monpas invites you for the most awaited Cultural festival. Come and join Discover Northeast for the everlasting experience of Tawang.

This year the festival dates are 26th-29th October. Tawang Festival is the festival of cultural and we are celebrating this by organizing our first trip to Tawang Festival. The seats are limited - 15 seats, so bag the offer before it finishes.
