The itinerary for this unconventional tour has been designed for community and nature sensitive travellers or those who want to travel the right way. We have planned a surprise for you every day where you get closer to the traditions of the North East and its diversity! Besides the stunning landscape, flora & fauna of these Himalayan foothills, we have cultural performances, interactive sessions with locals, participation at the local festivals and engrossing activities that would help you give back to the community while taking so much back from it!

DAY 1 - ARRIVE GUWAHATI (ASSAM)

Pick up from the Airport and head to the hotel.

DAY 2 - CROSS OVER TO ECO CAMPS AT CHANDUBI, ON THE ISLAND

70 km | 2-3 hrs |

After breakfast we depart from Guwahati and head to our Eco Camp.

And the adventure begins! Cross over by local boats and spend the day at the island in the midst of the Eco Sanctuary set in the lap of untouched environments. One can experience local archery, games, fishing, boating, birding with bonfires in the evening summed up with authentic local cuisines of the tribes.

 DAY3 - GET READY FOR THE WILD - KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK!

200 km | 6 hrs |

Kaziranga National Park is a protected area in the northeast Indian state of Assam. Spread across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, its forests, wetlands and grasslands are home to tigers, elephants and the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses. Ganges River dolphins swim in the park’s waters. It’s visited by many rare migratory birds, and gray pelicans roost near Kaziranga village.

Get comfy in the resort located inside the park.

DA4 - VISIT BAGORI ON AN ELEPHANT AND MORE!

Today we spend getting closer to the jungle and its biodiversity. At 6 am head out for the elephant safari into Bagori ( approx 4 hours). After Lunch head for the largest orchid biodiversity exhibitions in the region with an evening of traditional food, dances and customs.

DAY 5 - WELCOME TO NAGALAND!

 After a hearty breakfast drive to Dimapur – the entry to Nagaland! The drive is pristine viA soft rolling Himalayan meadows which further turn into flat land covered with tea plantations!

DAY 6 - GET READY TO CELEBRATE TRAVEL - HORNBILL FESTIVAL / KOHIMA NIGHT CARNIVAL

After a warm welcome at your homestay at Kohima – the Capital of Nagaland, we head towards the world famous Hornbill festival, also called the Festivals of festivals. (registeration) In the evening the streets of Kohima are lit up with celebration. Enjoy the street food and local drinks at the Kohima Night Carnival.

DAY 7&8 - HORNBILL FESTIVAL

Not much has to be said about Hornbill!

Engross yourself in the activities, shows and performances. For nature lovers, bloggers, photographers, researchers and adventurers – this is the perfect place to be in December.

Local dances, rituals and traditions are illustrated physically. Evenings will be lit with live music concerts. This time along with Bipul Chettri (Artist from kalimpong) we also have the legend – Bryan Adams in the line up this time!

DAY 9- REROUTE YOUR WAY BACK - BREAK IN DIMAPUR 

Come back to Dimapur by evening and halt for the night.

DAY 10 - TIME FOR SOME VILLAGE ADVENTURE - DIMAPUR TO SAKRA AGRO FARMS (ASSAM)  

200 kms |  7-8 hrs|

Welcome to  Sakra Agro Forestry Projects. An initiative by locals and off beat travellers to bring people close to the real village life. Besides conservation, the idea is to make the guests aware of sensitive travelling and its importance.

After Refreshments and settling in your bamboo homes, walk around the Project site to get a feel of the place and get settled before the next day’s activities begin. Spend the evening around a bon fire with an evening of music and BBQs followed by dinner.

DAY 11 - ARE YOU READY TO GET DIRTY?!! (FARM ACTIVITIES)

After a  Mountain View outdoor breakfast get ready in your gum boots for some pending plating the farm keepers left for you 😊

Help plant 100 trees to create an intercrop agro forestry system that will contribute in providing local employment, eco systems, and fight climate change and offset the expedition’s travel emissions.

Organic Farm Lunch followed by Sakra Agro forestry walks to understand a feel of the ecological landscape. Overnight stay with a relaxed evening in the midst of a protected eco system.

DAY 12 - SOAK IN. DRIVE TO GUWAHATI.

Soak in the time you spent with locals, traditions, in jungles and on field.

We totally understand that unforeseen circumstances might need you to change plans, and so our cancellation policy makes it easier to do that.
  • Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the trip — full refund.
  • Cancellation between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the trip — 50% refund.
  • Cancellation less than 15 days to the start of the trip — no refund.

In case of unforeseen weather conditions, government restrictions or any other unavoidable circumstances beyond the control of the host, certain activities during the expedition or the event itself may be cancelled, or there could be change in the itinerary. In such cases, the host will try their best to provide an alternate feasible activity or a voucher will be handed over (in case of cancellation or rescheduling of event) to you. However no refund will be provided for the same.

In case the trip is cancelled by the host for lack of minimum number of people in the batch, you will get a full refund.
