______ islands are connected to each other by a thin, fifty-meter long sandbar.

  1. Andaman and Nicobar
  2. Havelock and Neil
  3. Ross and Smith

Ross and Smith

The twin islands of Ross and Smith are connected to each other by a thin and silky fifty-meter long sandbar. This silky white sandbar goes underwater during high tides and surfaces again during low tides.

The most unique feature of the bar is its ability to divide the water into a shallow swimming area on one side and some amazing snorkelling on the other. The warm, turquoise blue waters are crystal clear, whilst the untamed virgin beaches are the most picture perfect ones you will see on the islands.

The beach is seldom crowded and you can feel a sense of tranquillity and peace here. A hiking trail through the dense tropical forests is a must for nature lovers all alike. Even though Smith Island has limited facilities, it still feels like paradise. An assortment of spacious bamboo huts with plenty of shade, changing rooms and toilets are some of the basic amenities offered here.

The water surrounding the island changes colour under the influence of the dancing rays of the sun. Hues of blue and green are revealed by these sunkissed waters.
