Bir-Billing hosted the first ever World Cup of paragliding in India under the Billing Paragliding Association with the help of Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI). Bir and Billing, located in the West of Himachal Pradesh are separated by a distance of 14 km. They have been a flocking ground for paragliders since 1984 when the first-hand gliding event was held amidst the scenic Dhauladhar Range.
Due to the climate and the wind speed between the sites, Bir- Billing is considered to be one of the best sites in the world for any airborne gliding. The best time to visit Bir-Billing is between March-May and October-November.
