- Jog Falls
Jog falls, also known as Jogada Gundi or Gersoppa falls is the highest plunge waterfall in Karnataka and the second-highest plunge waterfall in India. Joga is a Kannada word meaning falls. Plunge waterfalls are the type of waterfalls in which the water descends vertically, thus losing contact with the bedrock.
Jog falls are fed by the river Sharavati which is one of the few westward flowing rivers of India. The Jog falls is made up of four distinct falls: Raja, Roarer, Rocket and Rani. Out of these, the Raja fall pours in a single unbroken column and thus makes the Jog falls count among India’s highest plunge waterfalls.
