Krem Puri in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, is the longest sandstone cave in the world as per the March 2018 expedition by the Meghalaya Adventure Association. The explored region of the cave is 24.5 km long, and the cavers of the expedition plan to explore it again in 2019 since there might be more regions that weren't explored this time.
Krem means "cave" in the Khasi language. More than 1650 caves have been explored in Meghalaya. The state is a delight for cavers. Krem Liat Prah of the East Jainta Hills, with an explored length of 34 km, is the longest natural cave in India. Krem Mawsmai is a relatively easy cave for beginners to try caving for the first time.
