Which of these falls lie on the Goa-Karnataka border?
- Harvalem Falls
- Sada Falls
- Dudhsagar Falls
Dudhsagar Falls, meaning sea of milk in hindi, is one of the tallest waterfalls of India. It is located on the Mandovi River on the Goa-Karnataka border. The fall is surrounded by lush green forests of the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park.
The fall is accessible by two trekking routes. The railway trekking route has officially been banned by the government. Earlier people used to get down at Dudhsagar when the train used to stop for an unscheduled check before a long steep stretch. Railway has banned passengers from boarding/deboarding the train at the stop. Also, trespassing on railway track is an offense under the Indian Railways Act. Another route is the jeep trail that goes to the bottom of the fall.
