The ___________ is considered to be one of the most haunted places in India.
- Jaisalmer Fort
- Bhangarh Fort
- Amer Fort
Located on the border of the Sariska Reserve in the Aravali Range, Bhangarh Fort is considered to be one of the most haunted places in India. No one is allowed to stay in the fort premises at night, due to multiple paranormal incidents that have been reported at the fort. It is said that whoever stays there for the night, doesn’t return from the fort the following morning.
Houses near the Bhangarh fort have straw roofs or don’t have a roof at all. Villagers claim that the roof collapses whenever they start building it. There are two legends for the paranormal behaviour at Bhangarh:
- Baba Balau Nath, a sage that meditated near the site had cursed that the city would be destroyed if even the shadow of the fort touches his meditation area. Later, when more buildings got constructed, the shadow of the fort touched his meditation spot, and since then the city has been cursed.
- Singhia, a black magician was in love with the princess of Bhangarh. One day when the princess was buying perfume, Singhia replaced it with a love potion that was supposed to infuse love between them. The princess realised that the perfume has been replaced and threw the bottle on a stone, which rolled over the magician and crushed him. The magician cursed the city before he died.
