Spiti River stems from ____________, which divides the regions of Lahaul and Spiti.
- Kunzum Range
- Pin Parvati Pass
Spiti River originates from the Kunzum Range, and meets Satluj at Namgia (Kinnaur district) after it passes through Spiti Valley. The tributaries of this river are Tegpo and Kabzian streams. The major settlements around the river and these tributaries are Hansi and Dhankar Gompa.
As the location around the main Himalayas does not let the river benefit from South-West monsoon, it attains its water from peaks during the late summers through glacier melting. The river along with its tributaries is enveloped by huge mountains from both sides. These mountains appear to be barren with no vegetation cover.
PrevSerene Spiti : ___________ is registered in Limca Book of Records for having the highest polling station in the world.
