Which of these is a part of the four most important Hindu pilgrimage sites of India known as the Char Dham?
Badrinath is a holy town in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, and is one of the four most important Hindu pilgrimage sites of India known as the Char Dham. It is believed that visiting the Char Dham can help achieve Moksha — the freedom from the cycle of death and rebirth. Dwarka in Gujarat, Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu and Puri in Odisha are the other three dhams of the circuit.
Uttarakhand is also known as Devbhoomi, literally meaning "The land of the Gods", due to the sheer number of Hindu Temples and pilgrimage sites in the state. The state is a host to the “Chota Char Dham” circuit as well which consists of Yamunotri — the source of Yamuna River, Gangotri — the source of Ganga River, Kedarnath — a holy town in the Rudraprayag district and Badrinath — the holy town which is part of the actual Char Dham Yatra.
